Luisa is a proud member of the local Latino community. She attended Delaware State University and received her degree of Bachelor of Social Work in 2017 and her degree of Master of Social Work in 2018. She acquired her experience in the state of Delaware working with various populations, including the Latino community, seniors, adults, young adults, and adolescences in individual, family, and group settings. Throughout her academic career, Luisa interned and volunteered at numerous agencies and organizations, which increased her knowledge and experience in her field of study and at the same time was able to use her skills to benefit the greater community. She performed outreach to seniors to help them obtain benefits, understand resource options, and worked with the Senior Council to help with the educational campaign (2014). She raised awareness about sexual violence, provided support to people who experienced sexual violence, and assisted people who called the crisis helpline (2015-2016). Luisa worked with adolescents and young adults struggling with substance abuse and assisted and lead a group of young adults with substance abuse in a group setting (2016-2017). Luisa advocated for and worked with the Latino community, translated, and facilitated the communication between individuals. Luisa worked with students from grades 6-8 at the Milford Central Academy Middle School in the Behavioral Health Consultant Program, addressing the students’ clinical needs, leading a grief group, and working in a team collaboration with staff, teachers, parents, and other professionals. Currently, Luisa is a Master Level Clinician providing a variety of psychotherapies to adolescents and adults in individual sessions at Mind Mechanix, LLC.

Luisa holds family dear to her heart. She is grateful of her three children, family, friends, and all the people in her life. She enjoys family gatherings, Zumba, poetry, music, and nature walks. Luisa is also actively involved in her community church.
